HIV discrimination is wrong and it’s illegal. Cirque du Soleil fired Matthew Cusick, a talented gymnast, because he has HIV.

Cirque fired Matthew based on bias and unfounded fear, not facts. Never in the long history of the circus has one performer infected another with HIV (or any other transmissible disease) through an accident. Cirque’s own doctor cleared Matthew for participation.

Cirque should get its facts straight, educate its employees about the real way HIV is transmitted and reinstate Matthew Cusick.
